Job Summary

The Department of Education, Western Australia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Curriculum and Assessment Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Curriculum, Assessment and Strategic Policy division, you will play a critical role in shaping the educational landscape of Western Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage course syllabuses for languages Years 7 to 12, providing leadership for the development and review of curriculum, assessment and standards support materials.
  • Monitor and review the implementation and delivery of curriculum, courses and course standards, ensuring high-quality outcomes for students.
  • Provide high-level curriculum expertise in the development of quality ATAR course examinations and marking keys.
  • Facilitate consultation and collaborative processes between school systems, schools, and other stakeholder organisations to share ideas and devise common approaches on the implementation of the Authority's policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Recognised qualification in teaching and current registration to teach in Western Australia.
  • Ability to obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in undertaking consultation, stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and negotiation.
