About the Role

The Department of Education, Western Australia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our Curriculum, Assessment and Strategic Policy division, you will play a critical role in shaping the education landscape in Western Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the development and review of curriculum, assessment and standards support materials in Languages Years 7 to 12.
  • Provide leadership for the development and implementation of quality ATAR course examinations and marking keys.
  • Facilitate consultation and collaborative processes between school systems, schools and other stakeholder organisations.
  • Manage contract writers and associated physical resources, if required.
  • Provide high-level advice, correspondence and briefings to the Minister, the Board, the Executive Director, education systems and sector as required.
Requirements
  • Recognised qualification in teaching and current registration to teach in Western Australia.
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check.
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
