Lead Connections Planning and Network Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Connections Planning Engineer to join our team at AusNet Services. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to take the driver's seat in proactively planning the electricity sub-transmission network of AusNet to accommodate the rapidly growing pipeline of embedded generators, storage, and large load connections.
As a key member of our Network Strategy & Planning team based in Southbank, you will lead the network planning activities associated with the development of D-REZs (Distribution Renewable Energy Zones) to accommodate embedded generators, storage, and large loads in AusNet's sub-transmission network.
The successful candidate will have advanced technical knowledge and robust experience in electricity network planning, including strong understanding of Chapter 5 and Chapter 5A of the NER (National Electricity Rules) and its application to network design, customer, and generator performance standards. Additionally, they will possess expertise in using electricity network analysis tools or relevant software, such as PSSE, PSCAD, PowerFactory, and/or Sincal, and interpreting results.
With a Hybrid split (Office/WFH), this role offers flexibility and work-life balance. The estimated salary for this position is between $120,000 - $180,000 AUD per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
