About the Role

This exciting opportunity will see you proactively planning the electricity sub-transmission network of AusNet to accommodate the rapidly growing pipeline of embedded generators, storage, and large load connections.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead network planning activities associated with D-REZs (Distribution Renewable Energy Zones) to accommodate embedded generators, storage, and large loads in AusNet's sub-transmission network.
  • Undertake comprehensive network planning processes to assess network capabilities, emerging limitations, and initiate actions to address them.
  • Develop strategies to maximise the utilisation of our sub-transmission network, increasing load and generation connections.
  • Monitor 66kV generator compliance and initiate necessary action to address non-compliances.
  • Produce network investment plans and proposals for regulated transmission and sub-transmission networks.
About You

We are looking for an experienced professional with:

  • A degree in electrical engineering, power systems engineering, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated years of experience in the energy industry, preferably with some in utilities.
  • Advanced technical knowledge and robust experience in electricity network planning.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in end-to-end grid connection process, including GPS, R0, R1, and R2 processes.
  • Expertise in using electricity network analysis tools or relevant software, such as PSSE, PSCAD, PowerFactory, and/or Sincal.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
