Student Placement

Gain hands-on experience in mental health through our Student Placement Program, a unique opportunity to develop practical skills and work alongside experienced professionals.

As part of the program, you will be part of a team providing recovery-focused mental health support to individuals. You will have the chance to learn about trauma-informed and person-centered care while gaining valuable experience in client intake, assessments, and case management.

  • Assist with client intake, assessments, and case management
  • Conduct assessments and support recovery planning
  • Facilitate recovery programs, group activities, and community engagement
  • Provide practical and emotional support to individuals
  • Learn about trauma-informed and person-centered care
  • Observe and assist experienced mental health professionals
Requirements

To be considered for this placement, you will need to have:

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant qualification (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Mental Health)
  • Current National Police Clearance Certificate
  • A valid First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • A current working with Children Check
  • A current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • A valid Driver's licence
Preferred Qualifications

Lived experience of mental health recovery or as family members of people with a lived experience of recovery is highly desirable.
