Located in Rockhampton, Central Queensland, we are seeking a Consultant Adult Psychiatrist with subspeciality interest in forensic psychiatry to provide high-quality services to consumers of the Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service. The successful candidate will also provide clinical leadership for the Mental Health clinical team.

The Role and Hospital

The Psychiatrist will be responsible for providing psychiatric services to consumers at multiple sites, including the Prison Mental Health Service and the Court Liaison Service. This position is ideal for candidates with an interest in and/or certification in Forensic Mental Health, including Prison Mental Health.

Candidates must be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or equivalent. The Medical Board of Australia has implemented a new expedited pathway to specialist registration, eliminating the need for a specialist assessment with a specialist medical college for those with an accepted qualification in Psychiatry.
