Forensic Psychiatrist Position

We are seeking a specialist in forensic psychiatry to be based in Rockhampton, Central Queensland.

  • This regional city offers an ideal lifestyle and is the southern gateway to the Great Barrier Reef.

The role provides high-quality psychiatric services to consumers of the Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service and clinical leadership for the Mental Health clinical team.

Candidates with interest in or certification in Forensic Mental Health, including Prison Mental Health, will be preferred.

Central Queensland's Forensic Mental Health Service is based in Rockhampton CBD. The prison houses 900 inmates.

The consultant team consists of 16.8 consultant positions with subspecialty interests.

To be successful, applicants should be registered as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP).
