The Role and Hospital

The Psychiatrist will provide high quality psychiatry services to consumers of the Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service and provide clinical leadership for the Mental Health clinical team.

Candidates with experience in forensic mental health, including prison mental health, will be preferred. General Adult Psychiatrists may also be considered.

Central Queensland Forensic Mental Health Service is based in Rockhampton CBD and consists of the Prison Mental Health Service and the Court Liaison Service in addition to a Forensic Liaison Officer.

The Consultant team consists of 16.8 consultant positions and have sub-specialty interests including Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, Old Age Psychiatrist, Addiction Psychiatry, and Prison and Forensic Mental Health.

Requirements

Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or equivalent.
