Position Overview

We are seeking experienced professionals for two Project Manager roles within the Water Sector, specifically for the NSW State Government. This position offers a competitive rate of $112 per hour plus superannuation.

Key Details
  • Duration: 6-month contract with potential for extension
  • Location: Parramatta with flexible work-from-home options
  • Work Hours: 38 hours per week, 7.6 hours per day
Role Purpose

The primary objective of this role is to facilitate the effective management of predominantly high-risk and complex projects, with budgets ranging from $50 million to $200 million. You will collaborate closely with a designated lead Project Manager within the Major Projects portfolio, which encompasses capital works driven by growth and compliance needs, as well as significant renewal projects.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the successful execution of high-risk and complex projects from initiation to completion, adhering to NEC4 processes and the Major Projects delivery framework.
  • Foster collaboration among multi-disciplinary teams to ensure project delivery is consistent, accurate, and efficient, while effectively managing costs and risks.
  • Conduct regular meetings with delivery partners to promote trust and cooperation, addressing early warnings, program changes, and compliance matters related to safety, environment, quality, and constructability.
  • Manage stakeholder and community engagement for assigned projects, ensuring alignment with overarching communication strategies.
  • Identify, mitigate, and manage project risks effectively.
  • Develop, update, monitor, and manage project schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality, Workplace Health and Safety, and Environmental plans through thorough development, review, approval, and monitoring.
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting on project status, including Key Performance Indicators, costs, schedules, and risks against the Project Management Plan.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience as a Project Manager, demonstrating reliability and expertise in managing large infrastructure projects.

Qualifications
  • Extensive project management experience, particularly in leading or supporting large and multifaceted projects.
  • Experience collaborating with key business stakeholders is advantageous.
  • A highly motivated professional with a strong track record in delivering capital works programs.
  • A minimum of 5 years of industry experience is required.
