Transition and Peer Support Specialist

This role is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of commencing students at Deakin University.
The successful candidate will play a key role in helping students feel welcomed, supported, and ready to succeed by designing, implementing and coordinating peer mentoring and transition programs tailored to the needs of these students within the Faculty.
- Design, implement and coordinate peer mentoring and transition programs for incoming students.
- Collaborate with academic and professional staff to support student orientation and transition into their courses.
- Develop and deliver inclusive, culturally safe, and accessible transition experiences for diverse student cohorts.
- Facilitate workshops, drop-ins, and small group sessions focused on student success, peer learning, and help-seeking behaviors.
To be successful, you'll have:
- A degree with subsequent relevant experience; or
- Extensive experience and specialist knowledge or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Administrative experience working within a large organisation with formal administrative structures, policies and procedures.
- Customer service or student administrative experience.
- Understanding of the student journey.
