Project Contract Specialist

As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for the effective management of supplier performance and contract administration within the context of our New Intercity Fleet project. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in contracts or administration, particularly resolving commercial and contractual matters within a diversified organization.
The role involves collaborating closely with our NIF operational team and stakeholders to ensure that contract deliverables are successfully met. Key responsibilities include:
- Supplier Evaluation: Regularly assess supplier subcontracts to identify opportunities for cost and/or performance improvements.
- Contract Management: Develop, coordinate, and manage contract variations, warranty management, and other administrative areas.
- Financial Reporting: Monitor and record financial records including payment claims, cost to complete, variations and identify potential risks and variances.
- Negotiation & Delivery: Identify, negotiate, facilitate, and close out supplier contract variations while ensuring compliance with system requirements.
- Safety & Quality: Oversee subcontractor performance to ensure work is completed safely and to the highest quality standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and promote efficiencies in subcontract delivery and processes.
We're seeking someone with strong analytical and conceptual skills, who can present information effectively to support decision-making. A proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff is essential.
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Experience with SAP for both transactional and reporting purposes.
- Proficiency in contract administration and financial reporting.
- A demonstrated capacity to work independently, prioritise demands, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
