Sustainable Noise Regulator

This role plays a vital part in protecting and enhancing environmental health across the City. The Environmental Noise Specialist will contribute to developing and implementing policies and procedures that promote sustainable noise regulation.
- Develop and implement noise regulation policies aligned with legislation, planning schemes, and the City's evolving night-time economy.
- Conduct scientific noise studies and manage data analysis to inform evidence-based policy and procedure development.
- Provide expert advice on noise and vibration issues across development applications, events, and customer inquiries.
- Lead investigations into environmental noise complaints, ensuring consistent regulatory processes.
- Manage technical equipment and reporting, including calibration, data interpretation, and review of internal and external scientific reports.
- A degree in Science or Engineering relevant to environmental noise is essential.
- Eligibility to join the Australian Acoustical Society is required.
- A current Driver Licence and Registration to Work with Vulnerable People are necessary.
- Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills are essential, as is a proactive attitude and the ability to thrive in a collaborative work environment.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in noise regulation, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
