The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures that support the sustainable regulation of unreasonable noise. This involves leading investigations into noise impacts from residential and commercial sources, assessing development applications and event noise management plans, and providing expert guidance to ensure compliance with environmental standards.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement noise regulation policies aligned with legislation, planning schemes, and our evolving night-time economy.

  • Lead scientific noise studies and manage data analysis to inform evidence-based policy and procedure development.

  • Provide expert advice on noise and vibration issues across development applications, events, and customer inquiries.

  • Conduct and lead investigations into environmental noise complaints, ensuring consistent regulatory processes.

  • Manage technical equipment and reporting, including calibration, data interpretation, and review of internal and external scientific reports.

Your Qualifications and Skills:

">

To be successful in this role, you will need a degree in Science or Engineering relevant to environmental noise, eligibility to join the Australian Acoustical Society, a current Driver Licence, and Registration to Work with Vulnerable People. You should have a comprehensive understanding of public and environmental health legislation, guidelines, and Australian Standards specific to environmental noise. Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills are essential, as is a proactive, can-do attitude and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, high-volume work environment with attention to detail and teamwork.
