This is a critical role within our organization, focused on protecting and enhancing environmental health in the City of Hobart. The Specialist Environmental Noise professional will be responsible for developing and implementing sustainable noise regulation policies and procedures.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement noise regulation policies aligned with legislation and planning schemes to ensure effective management of unreasonable noise levels.
- Lead scientific noise studies and manage data analysis to inform evidence-based policy development, fostering a proactive approach to addressing environmental noise concerns.
- Provide expert advice on noise and vibration issues across development applications and customer inquiries, promoting transparency and consistency in regulatory processes.
- Conduct thorough investigations into environmental noise complaints, ensuring prompt and fair resolution while maintaining consistent regulatory processes.
- Manage technical equipment and reporting, including calibration and review of internal and external scientific reports, to maintain accuracy and reliability.
Essential Requirements
To succeed in this position, candidates should possess a solid foundation in science or engineering, relevant experience in environmental noise management, and exceptional communication skills. A current Driver Licence and Registration to Work with Vulnerable People are also required.
