As a key leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of genetic services.

This opportunity allows you to drive meaningful impact and innovation in clinical genetics. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead a dynamic team to deliver integrated genetic services and foster excellence in clinical care, research translation, and medical research.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in medicine, clinical genetics, or genetic counselling, with demonstrated leadership skills in a clinical and research setting. They will be responsible for driving competitive research, managing day-to-day clinical operations, and engaging with diverse stakeholders to identify growth opportunities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the VCGS Clinical Service team
  • Manage clinical aspects of genetic pathology services delivery
  • Champion VCGS services to the Department of Health
  • Manage the Clinical service budget

The role also involves supporting research activity for funding compliance.

To succeed in this role:

  • You will need to have a high-calibre publication track record
  • You will be recognised as a leading authority in the relevant field of genetics
  • You will require experience and understanding of at least 3 of the following settings: healthcare, pathology, science; genetic testing or counselling, academic research, not-for profit and/or service delivery to a client base
