Role Summary

A Genetic Counsellor is required to provide counselling services for patients seeking information about their personal and/or family history of cancer and genetic disorders.

  • Accurately collect patient information required for appointments.
  • Provide genetic counselling in accordance with current standards.
  • Collaborate with genetics team members to deliver effective services.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases for patients and family members.

About the Role

This is a regular position available at least one day per week, with limited notice as needed. The role involves working alongside other genetics team members such as clinical geneticists, medical specialists, and administrative staff.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must hold a relevant postgraduate degree and possess excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills. Knowledge of genetic principles, including medical, genetic, and psychosocial aspects, is also essential.
