Support Worker Role

A critical position has arisen in our team, seeking a skilled Support Worker to deliver high-quality services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, empathy, and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable populations. They will be responsible for providing individualized support, connecting clients with essential services, and promoting stability and growth within their communities.

This role is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others, while cultivating strong relationships with stakeholders and community partners.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building rapport with clients, identifying needs, and developing personalized support plans.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals, social workers, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Assisting clients with daily tasks, such as grocery shopping, meal preparation, and household maintenance.
  • Providing emotional support and counseling to help clients navigate complex situations.
  • Coordinating outreach services, attending stakeholder meetings, and participating in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in a related field, such as Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working with homeless populations or similar vulnerable groups.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle (for outreach services).
