About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to join our team as a Child Protection Specialist. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and best interests of vulnerable children and young people.
In this challenging yet rewarding position, you will respond to reports of child protection concerns, working collaboratively with families, other agencies, and professionals to provide support and services that address their needs. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough assessments to identify risks and develop effective intervention strategies;
- Collaborating with families to create safety plans, providing guidance, and offering ongoing support to ensure successful outcomes;
- Managing complex cases, including those involving high-risk clients and situations, while maintaining a focus on achieving positive results;
- Promoting the voice and rights of children and young people through advocacy and representation in court processes;
- Participating in regular supervision and contributing to the development of policy and procedures within the department.
To be successful in this role, you will possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders. A valid driver's licence (P1 or above) is also an essential requirement.
