
Senior Safeguarding Specialist

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children and their families. As a Child Protection Caseworker within our Joint Child Protection Response Program, you will be part of a dedicated team that assesses safety and risk to children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify and address safety and risk concerns for children and young people in collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
- Foster child-centered practice that respects the culture and context of each individual and their family.
- Source accurate and comprehensive information to inform evidence-based decisions prioritizing the safety, welfare, and well-being of children and young people.
- Engage in ethical and curious casework that adapts to changing needs and promotes positive outcomes for families.
- Built relationships with partner agencies and stakeholders to deliver coordinated services and achieve better outcomes.
- Participate in ongoing learning and professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices.
- Maintain precise client records for reporting and information sharing purposes.
- Engage in challenging conversations to mitigate risks and enhance safety and well-being.
- Pursue court action when necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in frontline statutory child protection services or statutory investigation services.
- Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Social Science, and Welfare, along with relevant practical experience.
- Other related degrees are considered if accompanied by knowledge, skills, and experience working with vulnerable populations.
- A valid driver's license (P1 or above).
- A paid Working With Children clearance number.
