Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Casual Cook to join our team at St Vincent's Care Services Maroochydore, where you will have the opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise and deliver exceptional dining experiences for our residents.

About the Opportunity

In this role, you will work closely with a highly experienced team to plan and execute menus that cater to diverse tastes and dietary needs. Your strong cooking skills and passion for food will enable you to create fine dining experiences that exceed expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook high-quality meals for residents in accordance with care plans and dietary requirements;
  • Plan and execute menus that are innovative, healthy, and appealing to our residents;
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure seamless day-to-day production and efficient use of resources;
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment that adheres to food safety and hygiene standards;
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to resident feedback and concerns;
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A trade qualification in commercial cooking or equivalent experience;
  • A current Food Handler Certificate;
  • Proven experience in volume cooking, preferably in hotels, healthcare, or similar environments;
  • Excellent knowledge of food services, including meal planning, chill production, and dining service management;
  • Ability to lead and work collaboratively with the kitchen team;
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills;
  • Compliance with food safety and hygiene standards;
  • Understanding of aged care and resident rights and responsibilities;
  • National Police Certificate (or ability to obtain one).
