Chief Aviation Safety and Compliance Officer

The successful applicant will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Aviation Academy's safety management system (SMS) and risk management framework. This includes conducting audits and investigations, providing expert advice, and ensuring aviation projects are aligned strategically to the University's direction.
Critical Requirements:
- Proven experience in the successful planning and implementation of quality, safety, and risk management systems, processes, and techniques to support a SMS.
- Demonstrated ability to keep abreast of and identify changes in global regulatory frameworks and adapt organisational risk strategies and systems as required.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of managing compliance and regulatory requirements of aviation contracts, including external regulators such as CASA.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated understanding of Safety Management Systems and aviation accident/incident investigation and human factors.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively, influence/inspire a safety culture, and develop relationships that aid delivery of business outcomes.
- Superior attention to detail, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
