About the Role

The Head of Consumer Cards is a critical position within our Consumer Cards and Personal Loans (CCPL) business, responsible for leading the growth and development of CCPL, EDB, and Retail products across Australia. This role ensures adherence to compliance and regulatory requirements, providing strategic direction to the product roadmap and driving financial performance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive product strategy for our consumer credit cards, aligned with our overall business objectives. This includes driving continuous improvement in the customer value proposition to deliver key commercial outcomes and profitable growth.

The role oversees the end-to-end product development lifecycle of the consumer cards product suite, from conceptualization to launch, working closely with cross-functional teams such as marketing, digital, credit risk, technology, legal, and risk management to deliver exceptional products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a clear Product vision and strategy over a short, medium, and long-term horizon, broken down into annual product development roadmaps.
  • Key responsibility for developing both short and long-term product plans, value propositions, including customer journeys, pricing models, partner agreements, and product roadmaps.
  • Managing the overall Product commercials across value and rewards cards while developing individual product strategies for each vertical, which roll into a cohesive overall position for consumer credit cards.
  • Understand performance of current products, manage product P&L performance to collaborate with key stakeholders on developing initiatives to improve overall profitability.
  • Monitor market trends for the development of new products, features, and benefits, considering the competitive context, strategic capabilities, customer desirability, and the ability to execute strongly driving long-term, sustainable growth.
  • Translation of the product strategies into core value proposition and tangible annual roadmaps, priorities, and tactical initiatives.
  • Develop, plan, and execute revenue-generating actions and investments to protect and grow revenues on a continuous basis.
Requirements
  • Delivering against financial results set in annual operating plans and objectives.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimization while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team culture to deliver KPIs and revenue targets for the CCPL business.
  • Provide leadership in guiding cross-functional teams and fostering a collaborative environment to achieve product objectives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize business cases for new business and product opportunities, and build business models to deliver sustainable business growth.
  • Manage and coordinate with all stakeholders in the development and timely delivery of agreed product roadmaps.
  • Be a champion for the voice of the customer to deliver customer value.
