Quality Assurance Specialist

Job Description:

The Senior Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for developing, designing and maintaining Oracle Xstore POS system's manual and automated test cases and testing strategies.

  • Analyze business requirements, functional specs, and technical designs for Oracle Xstore POS enhancements, upgrades, and integrations to ensure high-quality solutions.
  • Create detailed test plans, test scenarios, and test cases covering functional, regression, integration, UAT support, and performance testing to identify and resolve issues.
  • Validate POS hardware interactions (printers, barcode scanners, payment devices, cash drawers, customer displays) to guarantee seamless operations.
  • Conduct integration testing with external systems (OMS, CRM, ERP, payment gateways, tax engines, etc.,) to ensure compatibility and efficiency.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and provide defect triage assistance to stakeholders.
  • Agile Planning: Understands and advises partners with the challenges that delivery and operations teams face in their day-to-day work and partner with them to design viable solutions.
  • Perform functional testing for transactions such as sales, returns, promotions, discounts, tax calculations, loyalty, and tendering.
  • Automation Development: Owns the testing automation strategy, test data management strategy, and test automation framework architecture to streamline testing processes.
  • Develops new, or maintains existing, test automation testcases for Oracle Xstore POS applications, including front-end POS, back-office, and integrated systems that automation currently supports.
  • Coordinates regression test automation activities across supported applications.
  • Presents test results to stakeholders.
  • Identify, document, and prioritize defects using tools such as Jira, HP ALM, Zephyr, or TestRail.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of QA experience, including 2+ years in Oracle Xstore POS or other enterprise retail POS solutions.
  • Strong understanding of POS hardware peripherals, store operations and POS workflows: sales, returns, exchanges, tax, promotions, loyalty, and tendering.
  • Working experience in software development and/or testing.
  • Working experience in automated testing frameworks and scripting languages.
  • Working experience with software test tools and processes such as Jira, TestRail, Zephyr, HP ALM, building and testing frameworks, and consumer-facing applications and databases.
  • Working experience with regulatory standards testing processes.
