Intensive Family Support Specialist Tennant Creek

We are seeking an experienced Intensive Family Support Specialist to join our team at Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation in Tennant Creek, NT.
About the Role:
The Children and Families Intensive Support (CaFIS) Case Worker will work with families referred from Territory Families Housing & Communities (TFHC), Anyinginyi Health Services Section, other external agencies, and self-referral where a child or children has/have been identified as having experienced abuse and/or neglect or have been identified as being at high risk of neglect and/or abuse.
The CaFIS Case Worker will work in a culturally appropriate way with clients to develop support plans that meet the families' identified needs. The Role is part of a small team that ensures the program remains responsive and that there is ongoing continuity of service and coverage for families referred to the CaFIS program.
The successful applicant will have relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate IV or Diploma in Child, Family and Youth Interventions, Community Services, or similar. They will also have experience working in Aboriginal community health or welfare services and be able to support the delivery of culturally responsive programs and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support ongoing development, coordination and facilitation of positive engagement, interventions, and activities in accordance with the CaFIS program guidelines and organisational policies and practices.
- Work with the TFHC in relation to reporting and mandated processes as required.
- Uphold the vision, mission and priorities of the organisation as determined by the Board of Directors and outlined in its Strategic Plan.
- Contribute to the identification and management of risk or potential risk to clients to reduce immediate concerns.
About You:
We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of families and children. You will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Relevant qualification i.e. Cert IV/Diploma Child, Family and Youth Interventions, Community Services or similar.
- Experience working in Aboriginal community health or welfare services and ability to support the delivery of culturally responsive programs and services with an understanding of the importance of traditional cultures, values, and protocols, including Aboriginal child-rearing practices.
- Current NT Drivers License
- Be in possession of or have the ability to obtain an OCHRE Card (Working with Children).
Salary: $74,978 - $82,376 per annum.
Please note: A National Police Clearance and Ochre Card (NT Working with Children's) card obtainment is a requirement prior to commencement in this role. Please refer to NT Safe for further information. All Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation employees must be Fully COVID-19 Vaccinated.
