Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Bridge Maintenance Specialist to join our team.

About the Role:

The Senior Bridge Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for managing the identification, investigation, design, planning, procurement, and construction management of planned bridge maintenance works on the network.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise a small team of engineers, sub-consultants, and sub-contractors.
  • Oversee the outline and detailed design of bridge maintenance schemes including technical approval and design certification.
  • E nsure compliance with technical standards or manage the submission of Departures from Standard when applicable.
  • Prepare tender documents and preconstruction information packages.
  • Evaluate tenders and assist with contract award.
  • Manage the internal financial performance of individual schemes.
  • E nsure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures that form part of our Integrated Management System.
  • E nsure compliance with CDM Regulations, as required, and conduct robust risk assessments before works, operations, or inspections take place.
  • Liaise with clients and auditors.
  • Coordinate the production, issue, and archiving of all drawings, documents, and scheme files.
  • E nsure adequate environmental screening is undertaken and appropriate mitigation measures are implemented prior to work commencing.

Requirements:

  • H old a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • R elevant experience in the design and maintenance of highway bridge structures.
  • P rofessional qualifications and membership of an appropriate professional body (IEng / CEng and MICE, MIStructE, IHE etc).
  • A full approved UK driving licence.
  • Demonstrated skills in project management and team leadership.
