Job Title: School Psychologist - Student Wellbeing Specialist

Job Type: Permanent Part-Time, Term Time

Hours: Thursday and Fridays, 8.00am – 4.00pm (flexibility with days can be discussed)

Location: St Hilda's School, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Psychologist to join our team at St Hilda's School. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing counselling services to students and their families, working closely with staff to ensure holistic support for students, and devising and delivering preventative mental health programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counselling to students and their families from Pre-Prep to Year 12.
  • Work collaboratively with the Full-Time Psychologist and the Part-Time School Psychologist to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Liaise with staff to develop and implement preventative mental health programs.
  • Conduct risk and safety assessments and provide referrals for students to external health professionals as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files.

Requirements:

  • Formal qualifications in psychology with post-graduate qualifications in educational psychology, child and adolescent psychology, or school psychology.
  • Experience working in a school environment, with adolescents, or liaising with schools.
  • Experience working with junior school students is desirable.
  • General registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) is required.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and Mental Health First Aid Qualifications or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
