Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role for a highly skilled and experienced Educational Psychologist to join our team at the State Government of Victoria, Australia. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering key services that are integral to the effective operation of our schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a range of small group and whole-school mental health prevention and promotion activities aimed at improving student mental health and wellbeing.
  • Work with specific staff and parents to engage students in effective learning opportunities.
  • Assess, conceptualize, and analyze wellbeing issues, and provide evidence-based direct counseling support to clients with a range of mental health needs.
  • Coordinate supports for young people with complex needs, including referrals to a range of specialist services as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain highly developed communication, networking, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of people.
  • Ensure a clear understanding of legislative requirements regarding privacy of health information.
Requirements
  • Highly developed theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in educational psychology and mental health.
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering mental health services in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication, networking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, with a 1.0 EFT. School holiday attendance may be required for this position, up to 6 days. The successful applicant will be required to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including students, staff, parents, and external agencies.
