Job Title: Sustainable Development Superintendent

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Superintendent to join our team at our Dawson Mine in Moura, QLD. As a key member of our Environment team, you will be responsible for facilitating the management of the environment function at our mine, providing timely guidance and service to operational personnel to ensure delivery of the mine's performance targets and compliance to corporate and legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead innovation, development, and support of the site environmental programs.
  • Provide guidance and service to operational personnel and relevant external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of the Environmental Plan, including compliance to corporate and legislative requirements.
  • Manage the EA provisions across multi-site boundaries and ensure governance and adherence to these provisions.
  • Manage large mine site rehabilitation operations, striving for innovation and industry best practice.
  • Internal/external stakeholder management with key stakeholders, including our cultural heritage partners and the relevant government reporting bodies.
  • Develop plans, documentation, and coordinate Government approvals.
  • Coordinate and manage all environmental and heritage matters.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental licence and statutory requirements.
  • Provide environmental advice and support.
  • Take a lead role in the development of the Environmental Management System.
  • Coordinate and supervise environmental monitoring and inspections.
  • Coordinate environmental rehabilitation programmes.
  • Assist with preparation and management of the environmental budget.
  • Lead environmental incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to a team of professionals to deliver against set targets.
  • Proven success in supervising teams and individuals effectively, with the ability to coach, mentor, and support employee development positively.
  • A sound working knowledge of assay laboratories and sample processing.
  • A knowledge of, and commitment to, safety systems and practices within the Mining Industry.
  • Good computer literacy, including aptitude with the Microsoft Office suite, with the ability to prepare reports and compile data.

Requirements:

  • Proven Environmental experience in Resources or Mining (preferably Coal).
  • Demonstrate leadership skills within the Environmental Field.
  • Have knowledge of Environmental Management System ISO.
  • A degree in an Environmental discipline will be highly regarded.
  • Experience at a Superintendent level.
  • Have sound knowledge of State and Federal environmental legislation.
