Debt Recovery Expert

As a Debt Collection Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting outstanding fees from clients. This involves discussing individual circumstances and negotiating payment plans.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders across all levels, including senior management and executive leadership.
- Manage an assigned debtor portfolio by engaging professionally with clients in accordance with firm policies.
- Maintain accurate records of collection activities and all communications, including those with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Meet with partners to address outstanding accounts and make recommendations as needed.
- Escalate accounts as appropriate, including recommending credit provisions or referrals for legal action.
- Contribute to the development of effective credit practices that align with firm standards and policies.
- Assist with processing adjustments and reallocations.
- Resolve client fee queries within agreed timeframes, in accordance with firm policy.
- Manage the Accounts Receivable mailbox, delivering prompt and courteous responses to clients.
The role can be based in Brisbane, Adelaide, or Perth. We also consider Melbourne or Sydney for the right candidate.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional telephone manner.
- Excellent customer service, negotiation, and dispute resolution abilities.
- Ability to build rapport and influence decision-making.
- Confidence in working with senior stakeholders, including executive leadership.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Demonstrates initiative and a proactive approach.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft office skills – Excel and Outlook in particular.
- Experience in a similar role/background.
- Experience in Professional Services is highly regarded.
