Job Title: Electrical Substation Construction Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Substation Construction Manager to coordinate and manage project field activities within a geographical area of the United Energy network.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Coordinating and managing all construction activities within a zone substation, focusing on safety and ensuring project risks are identified and managed.
  • Managing day-to-day construction work and procurement activities, resource/application requirements, and project issues.
  • Managing field resources in line with project organisation structure, ensuring projects are completed to client's expectations safely, on time, to approved scope, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Managing internal and external stakeholder relations with sub-contractors, the client, and internal staff.
  • Coordinating sub-contractors and the quality of their work.
  • Providing accurate input into forecasting of program resource & financial requirements.
  • Assisting Project Manager & Estimators (as required) - scoping, bid tendering, cost estimation, and construction schedules.

  • Experience cultivating strong partnerships with stakeholders across the Victorian electrical market, demonstrating exceptional relationship-building skills and clear communication to ensure project success.
  • Nurturing team growth through collaborative leadership, focusing on comprehensive health & safety training while fostering an inclusive work environment.
  • Creating detailed documentation and maintaining meticulous records using SAP and MS Office, ensuring seamless coordination across multiple project phases.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and resilience in managing competing priorities while thoughtfully balancing resource allocation and team wellbeing.
  • Time spent supporting cross-functional teams with empathetic communication and inclusive project management, drawing on extensive VESI training and electrical network expertise.
