Electrical Substation Construction Manager
About the RoleThis position is responsible for coordinating and managing project field activities specified by the client within the East Coast geographical area of the energy network. Key responsibilities include managing construction activities within zone substations, focusing on safety and risk management.
- Oversee day-to-day construction work and procurement activities, ensuring resource application requirements and project issues are addressed.
- Lead field resources according to project organisation structure, guaranteeing projects are completed safely, on time, to approved scope, quality, and environmental standards.
- Maintain internal and external stakeholder relations with sub-contractors, clients, and internal staff.
- Coordinate sub-contractor performance and quality of work.
- Provide accurate input into forecasting program resource & financial requirements.
- Support Project Managers and Estimators as needed - scoping, bid tendering, cost estimation, and construction schedules.
Candidates should be experienced electrical professionals with over a decade of experience in substation construction and electrical distribution. They should have passion for mentoring teams and implementing innovative solutions that enhance network reliability and safety.
- Cultivate strong partnerships with stakeholders across the Victorian electrical market, demonstrating relationship-building skills and clear communication.
- Nurture team growth through collaborative leadership, focusing on comprehensive health & safety training while fostering an inclusive work environment.
- Create detailed documentation and maintain meticulous records using SAP and MS Office, ensuring seamless coordination across multiple project phases.
- Demonstrate adaptability and resilience in managing competing priorities while thoughtfully balancing resource allocation and team wellbeing.
- Support cross-functional teams with empathetic communication and inclusive project management, drawing on extensive VESI training and electrical network expertise.
