Work Integrated Learning Officer

The Work Integrated Learning (WIL) team is a key unit within the Faculty of Health, responsible for coordinating student work integrated learning activities. The WIL officer plays a vital role in this process, assisting with administrative tasks, client liaison, and providing advice and information to students, staff, and external agencies.

As a WIL officer, you will work in a team environment, collaborating closely with academic staff. You will have regular contact with students, academic and professional staff across the Faculty, and external organisations that partner with the University to provide work integrated learning experiences for students.

This position reports to the Senior WIL Officer for supervision, workload management, and performance planning and review.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to a culture of excellence in customer service by providing accurate, timely, and courteous advice to stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative assistance to coordinate and administer the placement program for students enrolled in nominated courses.
  • Deliver high-level client service by taking follow-up action on enquiries and resolving routine issues.
  • Prepare documents and spreadsheets using intermediate functions of software packages.
  • Accurately and efficiently input data into QUT corporate systems and relevant external systems.
  • Support engagement activities related to work integrated learning and relevant industry partners.
  • Contribute proactively to developing and maintaining strong relationships and networks with government agencies, industries, and corporations.
  • Support WIL officers in the WILS team to ensure positive placement outcomes for students.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Education, training, and/or experience equivalent to completion of an Associate Diploma in conjunction with relevant work experience.
  2. Demonstrated organisational skills, including planning, prioritising work, and managing time effectively.
  3. Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including clear communication, consultation, negotiation, and liaison with individuals internal and external to the organisation.
  4. Demonstrated written communication skills, including drafting, editing, and proofing documentation.
  5. Demonstrated success and commitment to providing high-level client service.
  6. Demonstrated computer literacy skills, including proficiency in Office suite programs and relational databases.
  7. Ability to actively participate in and contribute to establishing and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.

Desirable: Experience with placement of students within the Health sector.

Remuneration and Benefits: The classification for this position is Higher Education Worker Level 4 (HEW4), with an annual remuneration range of $76,919 to $80,897 pa, inclusive of 17% superannuation and leave loading.
