Construction Manager

Port Macquarie Hastings Council is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the Water and Sewer Construction Section and deliver priority projects within the Utilities Operations Group.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in utilities management, with experience in managing water and sewer reticulation networks operations, maintenance, repairs, and capital project delivery. They will also possess excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead a team and manage performance delivery to achieve KPIs, budget, and operational plan outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and manage the Water and Sewer Construction Section, ensuring high service levels to the community.
- Deliver priority projects within the Utilities Operations Group, in accordance with Council's Project Management Framework and record keeping requirements.
- Provide operational maintenance and repair services for water and sewer infrastructure across the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council LGA.
- Contribute to the development, update, and maintenance of the Water and Sewer Management Plans.
- Manage people and their performance to realise their individual and group potential to an optimal level.
- Manage financial targets for the group and contribute to financial objectives for the Division.
- Degree in Civil and/or Construction Engineering with relevant experience.
- Proven skills and experience in utilities management, with a strong background in water and sewer reticulation networks operations, maintenance, repairs, and capital project delivery.
- Extensive project management expertise, with the ability to lead a team and manage performance delivery to achieve KPIs, budget, and operational plan outcomes.
- Proven experience in a leadership role, with the ability to manage, coach, and develop teams and influence others' thinking and actions to bring about desired results.
- Thorough knowledge of WHS legislation, with experience of managing safety and developing a positive safety culture.
- Ability to participate in after-hours on-call roster on a regular basis.
- Competitive salary range of $122,466.42 to $137,849.76, depending on skills and experience.
