In partnership with the Project Manager, you will manage a wide range of Defence sector construction, refurbishment, and remediation projects throughout the Newcastle and Hunter regions.

With both immediate and upcoming refurbishment and civil works on the horizon, this is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of these projects.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will involve overseeing all daily operations and managing onsite activities from initiation to completion. You will:

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain quality standards
  • Oversee budget management and ensure efficient project execution
  • Coordinate with subcontractors
  • Supervise the project timeline to ensure alignment with deliverables
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager on all documentation and progress, with support from a Site Engineer

Candidate Profile

To excel in this position, you should have several years of experience in a similar capacity within the construction industry (experience in Defence construction and refurbishment is highly valued). The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A proven track record in managing multiple projects and site-based teams
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of building strong relationships and influencing stakeholders positively
  • Leadership abilities with a focus on employee development and team success
  • Proficiency in software applications, including MS Suite (Excel, Word, Project)
  • Relevant trade certifications and/or qualifications in construction management
