Job Description

The Service Improvement Specialist is responsible for sectors providing services to children. This role provides expert advice and capacity building support to organisations to ensure they meet the Child Safe Standards.

  • Host sector meetings, engage with organisations and conduct webinars to educate stakeholders about the WWCC, children’s employment and Child Safe Standards.
  • Offer concise advice and accurate information to organisations and other stakeholders regarding the Child Safe Standards, Working with Children Check (WWCC) and children’s employment legislation.
  • Assess an organisation’s ability to apply the Child Safe Standards, provide guidance and manage case loads using project management methodology.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills and influence negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply legislation.
  • Experience in conducting activities to assess compliance with legislation.
  • Conducting investigations experience is desirable.

  • A current Working with Children Check is required for all roles associated with the Office of the Children’s Guardian.
