Park Hyatt Sydney is a luxury hotel that offers an exceptional experience for its guests. As an Event Sales Executive, you will be responsible for qualifying leads and preparing proposals for groups and events across various market segments.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Qualify leads and prepare proposals for groups and events.
  • Undertake hotel tours for clients, including entertainment when required.
  • Negotiate and contract group and event business for the hotel.
  • Liaise with clients to coordinate all event requirements from start to finish.
  • Responsible for completing administration and execution of all planned events.
  • Respond to inquiries concerning services provided and costs for room and equipment hire, catering, and related services.
  • Meet with guests to discuss their needs and outline package options.
  • Arrange and coordinate services such as conference facilities, catering, signage, displays, audiovisual equipment, accommodation, transport, and social events for guests.
  • Oversee work by contractors and report on variations to work orders.
  • Conduct seamless handovers to the Operational team to foster client relationships.
  • Communicate with culinary, event service, and other operational departments to ensure seamless event delivery.
  • Attend weekly event revenue meetings and operational meetings, promoting conferences, conventions, and trade shows.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of minimum experience in a similar role and environment.
  • Experience in a luxury environment will be advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail with exceptional organisational and time management skills.
  • Committed to delivering events at an exceptional standard.
  • Proficiency in the English language with clear written and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and identify key needs.
  • Competent selling skills and a desire to exceed sales targets.
  • Strong administrative and computer skills (knowledge of Opera will be an advantage).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
  • The ability to create a positive first impression.
  • Immaculate grooming and personal presentation.
  • Tertiary qualifications in event management or equivalent will be advantageous.
