We are seeking a Behavioural Support Practitioner to join our team in Cairns.

Job Description

The primary goal of this role is to enhance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities by providing support and guidance. Our team works collaboratively to develop positive behaviour strategies that empower participants to achieve their goals and live independently.

  • We provide opportunities for professional growth and development, ensuring our practitioners have the necessary tools to excel in their roles.
  • Our team members build strong relationships with participants, their families, and service providers to create a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement intervention strategies in consultation with individuals and their families.
  • Provide professional information and education on evidence-based approaches to reduce challenging behaviour.
  • Ensure support plans align with NDIS plans and are recorded accurately.

Requirements

  • A completed degree qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or a related field.
  • Experience or knowledge of contemporary practices in relation to service provision for people with intellectual and/or cognitive disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to motivate and engage participants, families, and service providers.
