The role of Behaviour Support Practitioner involves providing professional support and guidance to individuals with disabilities, their families, and service providers.
- Building strong relationships with participants and their support networks.
- Developing and implementing intervention strategies in consultation with individuals and families.
- Ensuring accurate record-keeping in line with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) framework.
This position requires a passion for working with people with intellectual and cognitive disabilities, as well as experience or knowledge of contemporary practices and trends in service provision. Strong IT, administrative, and organisational skills are also essential.
Required Skills and Qualifications- A completed degree qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or a similar field.
- Experience or knowledge of restrictive practices and positive behaviour support plans.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and build rapport with participants and their families.
- Knowledge of good clinical practice and jurisdictional requirements.
