About The RoleThis is an exceptional opportunity to create a tangible impact in the lives of people living with disabilities. We will provide you with comprehensive induction and on-the-job training to ensure you possess the necessary tools to excel in your role.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities- Establishing close relationships with participants, their families, and service providers by creating a supportive and safe environment
- Providing expert information to individuals with disabilities and their support network regarding proven approaches to mitigate challenging behaviour
- Ensuring that the support we deliver aligns seamlessly with the participant's NDIS Plan
- Conducting behavioural assessments with NDIS participants who exhibit complex and challenging behaviours
- Developing and implementing intervention strategies in consultation with individuals and families
- Ensuring support plans, notes, and documents are recorded accurately and in line with the NDIS framework
- Completed degree qualification (or higher) in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or a related field
- Experience or knowledge of contemporary practices and trends in relation to service provision for people with intellectual and/or cognitive disabilities
- Ability to motivate, build rapport, and connect with participants, their families, and service providers - a true people person
- Enjoyment of being out on the road attending client visits (pool vehicles available)
- Knowledge of restrictive practices or experience working with them
- Exposure to developing and implementing positive behaviour support plans
- Understanding of good clinical practice, jurisdictional requirements, and the context in which Behaviour Support is provided
- Strong IT, administrative, and organisational skills as you will be working with billable time
