Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Operational Risk Manager to join our team at BeathChapman Pte Ltd. This is a unique opportunity to work with a renowned banking institution in Australia, providing expert risk advice to business units across the Consumer / Retail Bank and distribution network.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Function as a senior risk manager, performing risk analytics, strategic advisory, and business partnering with Consumer Bank heads and seniors.
  • Develop and master risk profiles for designated business units, assisting in the development of risk strategies on both business and group levels.
  • Conduct in-depth reviews of issues, assessing inherent and residual risks and their underlying impacts under the current regulatory landscape.
  • Contribute to operational risk in projects, initiatives, strategies, and cost-effective embedding to business as usual.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the business, strengthening risk culture, providing insights on key risks, controls, metrics, and trends, and driving continuous improvement and efficiency of risk management processes.
  • Document findings for management and committee reporting, actively contributing to risk forums and committee meetings.
  • Assume the Executive Manager role in the absence of the incumbent.

Skill Requirements:

  • 5+ years of operational risk and/or compliance experience in banking and financial services (Line 1 or 2).
  • Practical risk advisory and partnering experience with the business to continuously add value.
  • Outstanding ability to articulate operational risk issues to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Basic knowledge of the prudential and regulatory environment where a retail bank operates (APRA, NCCP Responsible Lending, Privacy Act, AUSTRAC, etc.).
  • Ability to manage workload and drive processes in a matrix working and reporting environment.
  • Desirable: consumer banking product knowledge (mortgages, cards, secured and unsecured lendings, deposits, etc.).
