Ventia is seeking a skilled Correctional Services Specialist to join our team in Broome. As a Custody Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the welfare and safety of detainees while upholding a professional and respectful demeanour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport and supervise detainees during critical activities.
- Participate in court activities for security requirements.
- Manage conflict and communicate with empathy to make a positive impact on the lives of detainees.
- Value diversity and display a fair and open-minded attitude towards detainees in custody.
- Provide safety and security for Persons in Custody, staff, employees, and members of the public.
What We Offer:
- Unique Training Experience: Fully funded Certificate 3 in Correctional Services.
- Paid Training: 6 weeks of fully paid training.
- Pay increase after training: $27.35 during training, increasing to $29.50 post-training.
- Regional Allowance: Extra $10,189 per annum spread over your fortnightly wage payments.
Requirements:
- Availability to train full time for 6 weeks in Perth (Fully Funded).
- Commitment to a minimum of 12 months to obtain qualifications.
- AU/NZ Citizenship or permanent residency.
- Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical, including a drug & alcohol test.
