Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting clinical laboratories, blood banks, patient service centers, and specialized facilities performing testing activities within New York State, and laboratories outside the State that accept specimens originating from New York State.
The job involves evaluating facility standard operating procedure manuals, reviewing laboratory records, reporting findings to laboratory directors and technical staff, documenting findings in descriptive narratives and laboratory evaluation reports, and determining the acceptance of a facility's proposed remediation by reviewing the plan of correction.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology, or a chemical or biological science;
- Three years of post-bachelor's professional experience in a laboratory that tests clinical specimens or environmental samples, or tissue bank, or blood bank, or physician practice;
- Mastery of clinical laboratory testing, quality assurance, audits, and applicable New York State laws and regulations;
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and computer skills;
- A willingness to travel to laboratories accepting specimens originating from New York State.
