About the Position

As a Custody Officer with Ventia, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of detainees within our facilities. This is an exceptional opportunity for individuals who are passionate about creating a positive impact on their community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport and supervise detainees during critical activities to maintain a secure environment.
  • Participate in court activities to provide security requirements and support justice processes.
  • Manage conflicts and communicate with empathy to make a positive impact on the lives of detainees.
  • Maintain a fair and open-minded attitude towards detainees from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ensure the safety and security of Persons in Custody, staff, employees, and members of the public.
  • Perform regular patrols of designated areas to prevent security breaches.
  • Supervise people in custody, escort them to appointments or court appearances, and maintain accurate records.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
  • Availability to train full-time for 6 weeks in Perth.
  • Commitment to a minimum of 12 months to obtain qualifications.
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical, including a drug & alcohol test.
