About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Safety Leader to join our team at San Day Surgery Hornsby, a leading private hospital in NSW. As the leader of our enterprise WHS function, you will be responsible for partnering with leaders across the organization to manage safety-related risks and foster a strong safety-first culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement impactful WHS strategies, programs, and systems to drive innovation and improvement in workplace safety.
  • Lead a team of five safety and staff health professionals across services spanning Pre-employment screening, Manual Handling, Injury Management, Workers Compensation, Workplace Audits, Staff Health, Safety Education & Wellbeing (EAP).
  • Collaborate with leaders across the organization to identify and mitigate safety-related risks, and develop strategies to promote a safety-first culture.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including employees, management, and external partners.
  • Stay up-to-date with contemporary Health & Safety legislation, regulations, standards & guidelines, and Workers Compensation premium models.
Requirements
  • Deep knowledge of contemporary Health & Safety legislation, regulations, standards & guidelines as well as Workers Compensation premium models.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety or a related field.
  • Proven track record of leading a team in the implementation of impactful WHS strategies, programs, and systems within a large, complex Health Services (ideally hospital), or related organization such as Aged Care, Community, or Disability Services.
