About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Coding Manager to join our team at San Day Surgery Hornsby. As a senior leader, you will be responsible for driving and leading regular clinical coding audits and quality improvement activities, as well as liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of clinical coders and contractors, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and efficient coding practices.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance coding accuracy and compliance with Australian Coding Standards (ACS) and ICD-10-AM classification system.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, including executives and departmental teams, to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Respond to internal and external requests for information, providing timely and accurate responses.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in clinical coding at a large hospital, with a strong understanding of ICD-10-AM classification system, DRG assignment/casemix, and Australian Coding Standards (ACS).
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in driving and supporting a clinical coding team, with a proven track record of improving coding accuracy and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of private sector funding models is highly regarded, but not essential.
