About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Work Health and Safety (WHS) professional to lead our enterprise WHS function at San Day Surgery Hornsby. As the leader of our WHS team, you will be responsible for partnering with leaders across the organisation to manage our safety-related risks and foster a strong safety-first culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement impactful WHS strategies, programs, and systems to drive innovation in our approach to safety.
  • Lead a team of five safety and staff health professionals across services spanning Pre-employment screening, Manual Handling, Injury Management, Workers Compensation, Workplace Audits, Staff Health, Safety Education & Wellbeing (EAP).
  • Partner with leaders across the organisation to manage safety-related risks and foster a strong safety-first culture.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of contemporary Health & Safety legislation, regulations, standards & guidelines as well as Workers Compensation premium models.
Requirements
  • Impressive track record for leading a team in the implementation of impactful WHS strategies, programs, and systems within a large, complex Health Services (ideally hospital), or related organisation such as Aged Care, Community, or Disability Services.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety or a related field.
  • Deep knowledge of contemporary Health & Safety legislation, regulations, standards & guidelines as well as Workers Compensation premium models.
