We are seeking an experienced Clinical Coding Manager to join our team at San Day Surgery Hornsby. As a key member of our clinical coding team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the coding process, ensuring accurate and timely coding of patient records.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of clinical coders, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality coding outcomes.
- Develop and implement coding policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Australian Coding Standards (ACS) and ICD-10-AM classification system.
- Conduct regular clinical coding audits and quality improvement activities to ensure accuracy and consistency of coding.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, including medical officers and departmental managers, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Respond to internal and external requests for information and data related to coding and clinical coding activities.
- 5+ years of experience in clinical coding at a large (tertiary) hospital.
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience in clinical coding.
- Strong knowledge and skills in using the ICD-10-AM classification system, DRG assignment/casemix, and Australian Coding Standards (ACS).
- Previous training in ICD 10-AM 12th Edition is essential.
- Previous or current experience using 3M Codefinder.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated experience of same through considerate and professional liaisons with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of private sector funding models is highly regarded.
