Senior HSSE Business Partner

The Senior HSSE Business Partner will play a critical role in developing and executing a strategic vision for Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) within Puma Energy's Australian business. This position will work closely with the Australian Bitumen (SLT) Senior Leadership Team to align HSSE objectives with local business objectives and global strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Workplace Health & Safety
- Ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and implement controls to mitigate hazards.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee knowledge and skills.
- Investigate incidents and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Quality Management System Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Puma Energy's Quality Management System (QMS) and relevant industry standards.
- Develop and implement processes to improve QMS effectiveness and efficiency.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with operational teams to implement QMS improvements.
- HSSE Leadership and Governance
- Provide strategic guidance and support to the Australian Bitumen (SLT) Senior Leadership Team on HSSE matters.
- Develop and implement HSSE policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Collaborate with regional and global HSSE teams to share best practices and improve HSSE performance.
- Ensure compliance with Puma Energy's HSSE policies and procedures.
- Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop and implement communication plans to engage stakeholders on HSSE matters.
- Provide regular updates to the Australian Bitumen (SLT) Senior Leadership Team on HSSE performance and initiatives.
- Collaborate with operational teams to develop and implement HSSE training programs.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and industry partners.
- Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
- University degree or post-graduate qualifications preferred.
- Experience
- Minimum 7 years' experience in heavy industries, such as oil and gas, mining, construction, or manufacturing.
- Proven experience in HSSE leadership and governance.
- Strong knowledge of HSE-related legislation, industry standards, and management system standards.
