Head Chef Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Head Chef who will lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional guest experiences.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience as a Sous Chef or hands-on Head Chef, with a proven track record of developing and leading kitchen teams to achieve high levels of quality and consistency.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to foster positive working relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and service staff.

Additionally, they will have relevant culinary qualifications, including a strong working knowledge of HACCP principles and Food Safety Supervisor certification.

Key responsibilities will include daily food preparation and execution of innovative menus tailored to meet evolving guest needs, collaborating with service teams to ensure seamless delivery of quality food and exceptional guest experiences.

The Head Chef will also oversee rostering and wage costs to maintain operational excellence, lead performance and development of their kitchen brigade, nurturing talent and fostering growth, champion a positive team culture in a diverse, inclusive, and supportive environment, and uphold health and safety standards to ensure a safe and professional kitchen space.

Culinary Expertise and Leadership Skills

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or hands-on Head Chef, with a track record of developing, motivating, and leading kitchen teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and service staff
  • Relevant culinary qualifications, including a strong working knowledge of HACCP principles and Food Safety Supervisor certification
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle high-volume workloads and meet tight deadlines
