Accessibility Support Specialist

This role involves providing specialist support to students with disabilities, medical or mental health conditions, neurodivergence, or carers to ensure equitable access to education.

The successful candidate will work closely with students and staff across various units to implement personalised academic adjustments and promote inclusive practice.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with students to develop individualised Learning Access Plans and collaborating with staff on implementation.
  • Maintaining timely, accurate records using administrative systems and staying informed about current best practices in equity and disability fields.
  • Contribute to group/cohort programs to enhance student success and promote inclusive practice and universal design principles across the student lifecycle.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as health sciences, social work, disability, or related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education/training.
  • Able to deliver high-quality, specialist support to individuals and resolve complex problems through information analysis.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, processes, and guidelines related to equity, diversity, disability, and equal opportunity.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple processes, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across diverse groups and the ability to build positive working relationships.
